General Questions
When using a single studio for multiple programs each program should have its own identity. Research has shown that people watch programs not channels.
Both have merits. However, a built in cyclorama is dedicated and covers existing mechanicals (electrical, audio and HVAC) in your studio and can be very costly to install. A built in cyclorama can also create difficult audio “bounce” problems. A UNISET modular self-standing cyclorama allows for walk behind access to back lights and mechanicals. With removable modules your production area can be used for other conventional settings and uses allowing for greater use of your studio space and there is not on-site production costs.
These colors display well using the latest video delivery systems. These colors are also complementary to skin tones.
After planning is completed on how the set will be configured only two people are required to set the production area. Simply roll product carts into the area and set per model plan.
Most of the time you will simply adjust the positioning of the UNISET modules and not the lighting fixtures.
With the use of digital chromakey there are unlimited looks you can achieve by keying layers and effects onto our systems, and don’t forget about all of the proven theatrical effects:
Gels for Lighting
Gobo Lighting
Paint
Star filters for lighting
Yes, simply specify the PMS color or laminate you would like for you set. There is an additional cost for this service
Most of our systems store on castered carts that will roll through nominal 3’ doors. Many of our customers will store unused modules within the studio out of camera view, and other will move the modules into hallways or storerooms when not in use.
Normal delivery will be 1-12 weeks depending on the system, current inventory, order backlog and any custom specification requested.
Yes, If you provide us with your location and programming requirements we will make introductions to current users allowing you to have a candid discussion with your peer. CONTACT LINK HERE
Yes, simply send us a drawing/floor-plan or photos of the proposed area with dimensions, doorways, height of lighting grid (can be a rough sketch) and we will respond with a suggested drawing with our products inserted to the scale of the area. We will aslo include elevations of the product in the space. Also, scale models of our systems can be borrowed for evaluation.
If cared for our systems will last for many years. We have customers who are still using our original modules purchased over 30 years ago.
News and Interview desk systems, Backwalls, Cycloramas (Blue and Green Screens), Floor Risers, Modular Stage Systems and more

It is recommended that deliveries are shipped to a freight receiving location or are met at the delivery location with the proper material handling equipment and personnel to safely off-load.
UNI-PRO Studio System
The UNI-PRO Studio System is a revolutionary “four sets in one” contiguous background system. The genesis of which is the customers demands for more versatility and program/show identities within the same set but at a cost effective price point.
The system is standardized in scale, size, dimensions and specifications but allows each customer to “customize” finished surfaces and graphic display areas built into the set frame/structure.
The contiguous upper soffit, columns, knee wall, chair rail and four (4) graphic display areas can all be finished with surface applications selected by the Customer from UNISET’s offered finish options.
Recessed LED lights are provided in the soffit to accent the graphic display areas. Lighting within the columns and knee wall is also available per request.
Yes. The background system is all prefabricated, arrives prefinished and is built in sections that can be handle by two people. Hardware is provided and each wall section simply attaches with standard machine screws and wing nuts.
Yes, UNISET’s staff designer will provide at no cost line drawings and perspective plans of the customers desired finishes for Customer's acceptance and approval.
UNI-CYC Cyclorama Systems
We require the length of each of the cycloramas walls, the height from the floor to the lighting grid and the desired cove configuration.
Our standard cyclorama wall heights are 8’, 10’ 12’ and 14’. Custom heights are available per customer request for a small up charge.
It is color. Depending on the type of video production a blue or green chromakey wall may be better suited based on what talent is wearing or what type of environment the production is taking place in. Other factors that may impact the decision are lighting, cameras and software.
Yes, our cycloramas leave our factory as modules that are assembled using simple tools. These modules are capable of being reconfigured and modified through the addition/subtraction of system modules and are designed to be set (assembled), struck (dis-assembled), stored and set again.
Yes, we provide matching floor panels for both our blue and green cycloramas. Our floor panels are scuff resistant and are easily stored when not in use.
All of our cycloramas can be reconfigured through the addition or subtraction of additional modules.
Our UNI-CYC systems are the only free standing fully modular cyclorama systems available. Our systems do not require in studio construction or attachment to walls. This allows for them to be modified and or moved and be repurposed. Combining this level of versatility with quality and service generates a high level of value for our customers.
These terms are not interchangeable but all three are related: Cyclorama: Is the physical wall structure where perspective lines (corners) are eliminated through the use of radiused wall coves and ground row sweeps Chromakey: represents a color that a camera is set to “key” onto. This keyed area of the shot is where a graphic, animation, scene, ETC is layered into via software to create a virtual scene Virtual: Is the scene that is digitally inserted into the chromakey areas of a video production. This scene can be static (picture background or dynamic video)
NUNS Desk Systems
They attach using small pieces ½”X ½”double faced adhesive foam tape. Each system includes a roll of double faced adhesive foam tape in the Care and Use Kit enough for 100’s of desk changes.
The Desk has a reconfigurable base and front panels that accommodate up to seven (7) different table tops in differing sizes and shapes. Each top is designed to enable different talent configurations and achieve multiple show identities. Individual, anchor/co-anchor, one on one interview, moderator with panel participants
Each Desk and its related components come on custom, castered storage carts that provide safe and efficient storage off camera of un-used desk components.
The burled mahogany is a finish and color that does not compete with the talent and show identity elements and shows very well on camera.
Yes, our News Interview Desk Systems allow for many ways to create a unique show identities. One of the most common is applying a vinyl graphic to the face of the desk system’s front panel, which we create from customer supplied artwork and attach prior to shipping. You can also add a mount for a video monitor, or insert an acrylic panel with mounted graphics allowing you to use rear illumination under that desk top. All of these items and more can be coordinated with your UNISET representative.
UNIPRO Desk Systems
Both systems maintain the same universal appeal of multiple desk tops aligned with each desk base component. The UNI-PRO is a more contemporary look and offers greater flexibility with changing up show identities with the use of multiple desk front panels. Each UNI-PRO comes with a universal monitor mount to accommodate up to a 42” TV monitor, a chroma key green panel and a custom graphic panel with the customers logo, emblem etc. displayed. All three of these attach to the front desk assembly and can be changed out in seconds. The UNI-PRO can also be “raised” to a 42” "Bistro" height in seconds, thereby providing additional programming options and talent configurations.
The UNI-PRO desk can used as a standard 30” H desk or elevated to a 42” H "Bistro" height. This is done by lowering each 30” base over the corresponding 12” base component. Each 12” lift component has a welded male end that slips into the hollowed out end of the 30” base. The 42” height allows for both stand up and bistro height seating. The desk is simply “raised” and ALL desk tops can be used in the same manner as at the standard 30” H.
Yes, the standard finish is a powder coated matt black, but can be colored/customized for a nominal upcharge.
Each base (30” H or 42” H) can have a vertical “trim strip” applied via magnets to simply attach to each base and cover up the truss weave. Additionally, these trim strips can be customized with corporate name, school logo etc. to again offer greater versatility and different show identities. On the Home Page, see Gallery Tab ... scroll to UNI-PRO Desk System and view pop out... UNI-PRO Desk Base Perpsectives for images of this great feature.
Each desk and its related components and tops come on a custom, castered storage cart that provides safe and efficient storage off set and readily available for the next change out.
Yes. The desk base and frame is only 30” H. A optional custom storage cart is available to store and transport the desk components and tops. Tops # 1 and 2 at 51” L x 30” W and 63” L x 30” W are compatible with the storage cart and can easily fit inside a Van or SUV.
UNI-PRO Desk System Mobile Carry Case
The inside of the case is custom designed to store each desk component, including two tops. Protective foam lines the entire case and is in place to separate each component.
Yes. In addition to the safe and secure latch, a lock can be added to each of the two latches.
There is added room to accommodate several Media Panels and small miscellaneous desk props.
Two people can easily lift the Case in and out of a vehicle. For larger vans and vehicles that have a ramp, one person can easily maneuver the Case up and down the ramp.
Yes, all four wheels have foot levers that when engaged lock the wheels in place. Simply raising the compressed lever with your foot releases the tension on the wheel and allows it to roll.
Yes. Artwork of any kind can be mechanically applied or screen printed.
Wall/Column Systems
The “typical” back wall system is 20’ comprised of four (4) five (5) foot wide by either 95” or 102” tall panels. When taking into account the curved nature of the back wall, the overall width is 18’5”. To allow for rear access for lighting, power etc. we recommend you have a minimum of 22’5” of overall area to accommodate a standard 20’ Wall/Column System.
Yes. Panels can be configured from two (2) at 10’ overall width to as many as ten (10) at 50’ overall back wall surface. The larger the back wall, the more show identities you can achieve with the same set elements.
Yes, by either adding fixed wall sections or by incorporating the UNISET Rolling Panels which can be “rolled” into place to extend the set as needed and rolled off camera when not in use.
Yes. The base and upper finish material can be any combination of laminate and/or fabric and for a modest upcharge faux brick or stack stone. The upper finish is typically a fabric chromakey color where a hook and loop graphic is applied or a scene can be digitally inserted into the chromakey via software to create a virtual scene. The laminate, fabric and faux finished surfaces can be viewed under UNISET Products, tab down to Finish Options and see a wide variety of finished surface options. (for non standard finishes, pricing available upon request)
Not necessarily. The 95” tall Wall Column System is for use when a Riser is NOT used, whereas the 102” tall Wall Column System is used when a Riser is desired. The NUNS News/Interview Desk is a perfect complement to the Wall Column System.
Rolling Panel Systems
Rolling Panels are ideal in two scenarios. 1) they can temporarily extend a fixed back wall and create an interview or stand up area 2) they can serve as the back wall and by rotating 180 degrees can be either a traditional news/interview set (curved burled mahogany/upper chromakey veltex side) or the green screen side (stand up virtual set).
Rolling Panels can be customized to any finished surface for a modest upcharge. Faux Brick or Stack Stone and numerous laminate veneers and fabrics can be applied to either the curved or flat side of the Rolling Panel. See our Rolling Panel Gallery and also samples of various finished surfaces under UNISET Products and scroll down to Finish Options.
UNISET has a Point to Point Ground Row Sweep that fits over the Rolling Panel chassis/frame that when coupled with a UNISET chromakey floor, creates a modular cyclorama where a digitally inserted scene can be layered into the chromakey area for virtual content. With these accessories fully immersed virtual programming content is attainable. Removeable Columns can be added to achieve another look for the news/interview side.
All Rolling Panels are prefinished and fully assembled just like all UNISET modular set components. Rolling Panels are 5’ wide by 8’ tall and ship 2 to a cart. The one piece chassis/frame has heavy duty casters that are inserted into pre-cored sleeves (2 frames/Panel) and with the assistance of two people are stood up on end. That’s it. Ready to roll into place and put on the set.
Transition Panel Systems
Simliar to the rolling panels 1) they can temporarily extend a fixed back wall and create an interview or stand up area 2) they can serve as the back wall or you can stagger them to create depth in your shots 3) the ability to add and change your looks forever by adding to your library of graphics and laminates.
Yup! Each panel has heavy duty velcro they allows you to customize the panel with acylic, graphics or anything else you can think of. Faux Brick or Stack Stone and numerous laminate veneers can be added to partial panels or full height panels for an upcharge. The bottom knee wall is adhered with magnets which allpows you to swap in and out different finishes in seconds.
Of course! As the budgets allow, you can always add on more to your transition panels.
The Transition Panels are prefinished and fully assembled just like all UNISET modular set components. They are are 42" wide and 8’ tall. They are flat packed and shipped on a pallet. Once it arrives, insert the two feet into the Transition Panels while they are upright and maneuver them to where you want them on your set!
